- Wash your hands with soap and water.
- Dry-wipe and hand with towels or dry paper.
- Take the clean urine collection container (avoid touching the inside with your fingers).
- Clean the genital organs including the opening where the urine comes out with water and dry paper towels.
- When urinating, the first portion of urine is discarded in the toilet.
- Collect the mid-stream urine in the container.
- Allow excess urine to pass again into the toilet.
- Close the cap tightly and clean the outer surface of the container.
- Kindly submit the urine container to the laboratory / phlebotomy room.
